It brought out all my diaspora Indian chauvinism. Bollywood may be trite, syncretic, mongrelized, commercial, over-the-top pop culture. But it's OUR syncretism. We INVENTED the giant kitsch-song-and-dance-ensemble! No doubt. Busby Berkeley was phenomenal - funny to learn about his military history - thanks for the link.
