that feb 14th thing

went right over me. Apart from irritation at the single long-stemmed red roses and red hearts everywhere, when I walked into Yaya center this morning, straight off the plane from Zanzibar, brain buzzing with the 60 things I need to power through today.

But in an interview with a journalist from the East African Standard half-an-hour ago, a question came up about a love poem he heard me do at the Alliance Francaise in Nairobi in December. And it got me remembering a series of postings about love poems. And I thought it was as good a way as any to register my protest at Feb. 14th. So here we go - from the archives, the best of my thinking on love poems.
