tålamod

is Swedish for patience.

Be patient with me, gentle readers of this blog, to whom I owe several days worth of postings on my adventures in Uppsala.

A reminder to myself, to take
One
Thing
At
A
Time.

And
Breathe.

This morning, I stood with a flotilla of cyclists behind the railway barrier, as a cargo train zoomed by. Each carriage a bright cylinder of vivid green. Carrying petrol? Biogas? Who knows? When the barrier lifted, we all moved forward with a controlled energy that could have been choreographed.

There's a leafy branch of lemon geranium in a glass of water on my desk. It smells like tålamod and bubbling excitement.

New vocabulary gleaned from my first supermarket expedition:

havregryn - oats

berikade - enriched

vetekli - wheatgerm

råg - rye

osotat - unsweetened

"osötade"
;-)
You had better get used to the umlaut.

Välkommen till Sverige, igen!
hälsar Lena
