two more earth tremors

this morning,around 5.45am.

The first was a baby rumble, over in 5 seconds. The second was strong, prolonged, loud.

What's funny is that the first thing I heard when the final ripple of the second one subsided, was the loud insistent dawn chorus of birdsong. As if they hadn't noticed the world shaking.

It's kinda reassuring, actually. If animals knew that the tsunami was coming in South East Asia, and fled inland, then I have faith in the insouciance of Nairobi birds. If they're not taking off before the tremors hit, maybe that means it's not yet time for humans to panic.
