US Navy murders 400 dolphins

off the coast of East Africa. Hundreds of dolphin bodies have been washed up on the coast of Zanzibar. No evidence of poisoning. It's pretty obvious: death from sonar blasting by US submarines, patrolling East African waters in "counterterrorism operations."

It makes me so angry I want to punch something. There's nowhere in the world you can go to escape this hideous empire and it's all-encompassing killing machine. Not even deep underwater, hundreds of miles out to sea.

What will Chinese Admirals think of such sonar trials. I once served on a US Navy destroyer. Will they not say to their political masters here is further evidence that we had better build up counter forces. These Americans thought that nobody would notice if they ran tests in a third world ocean.

Now look how they demoralize their forces by hiding in the corridors while enlisted people take punishment for following their own unlawful orders at Guantanamo and Abughreb. Because they think that they have perfected a winner take all system they can do anything.

Saw your blog which was sited on Pambazuka News. "Normally" I'm in Ghana but will be in San Mateo CA for a couple more months. I hope to catch one of your East bay performances. I too have a blog "dedicated to secondary students in GH and will add microfinance stuff to it. Just now its not as well organized as it is supposed to be: http://community.livejournal.com/schooldaz/

It's quite obvious you have no real knowledge of Naval operations or their effects on marine life. Do you have any idea how sonar works, why and when it's actually used, where it's used or by whom. Based on your blog you don't. You probably got most of your info from the "unbiased" media or a liberal "teacher", maybe "Teen" magazine?
I'm tired of hearing so much uninformed BS from angry young people. You have the right to voice your opinion, just do us all a favor and make sure it's an informed one first.
Wish I didn't have to be anonymous but I don't have a choice.
